So I test drove the new lancer and...

She drives nice... drove the 5sp in the rain with no A/C. Would never buy a car without ac but just wanted to get a feel for the 08's.

Anyways so I pull out of the gas station and hit a red light, sitting there talking to the sales guy when I feel this "thud" I thought i may have let off the clutch and stalled it but looked down at rpm's and car was still running.

Look in the rearview and the car behind me looks pretty damn close, so I look at the sales guy and say, I think that guy just hit me... salesguy gets out looks at the back, comes back and says yep.

He then goes on his lil sales pitch about the lancers 5mph bumpers etc...

Luckily there was no damage. Was funny that my first accendent would be test driving a car.

Now I gotta decide what I will do, get a '08, keep my 05 and turbo, wait for a ralliart vers that may or maynot come, or buy a used EVO. Guess it all depends on what my credit and wife will allow. haha

The 02-06 have better sound insulation, but thats about all

Wonder why Mitsu didn't sound proof it as the older pedigrees

would all depend on what your lookin for....if a DD, i'd say get the 08...if you feelin frogish....than turbo up your 05(sentimental value)....if you really want to unleash a few beasts and look good doin it, cop an evo and boost until excitement turns to arrousal!!!

^That won't necessary if they make the GSX like I hope they will! It'll have everything I want and more!

at least there was no damage, my first accident was when i totaled my moms and dads 03 lancer ES a prepy looking guy and his friend thought it was a good idea idea to run a red light.
When i was making the turn is facing northwest, after the accident i was south and the only thing not damaged to the front end was the drivers side headlight. everything else was destroyed

Sounds like you're luck is like mine. Sorry to hear about getting nailed on the test drive.

I'm almost in the same boat as you ( with my '03 ) and i'm considering just waiting to see what happens.

EVO is sexy, but more expensive to own. The 08's are very nice, quiet, and smooth with a little pep. If you've got the income to purchase, maintain, and mod than definately get the EVO. Otherwise, I would just stick with an '08 with the package of your choice.
