Clear Coat Question......

so i was recently hit by another driver and today i filled in some of the scratches with touch-up paint....after it dried i rubbed it down with compund....then polisheing compound then a little wax....

so what i wanna know is do i really have to put clear coat on top of the touch up paint or is it ok to leave it the way it is because i dont realy wanna make a mess with the clear coat and get it all over the place where its not supposed to be

thanks for the help

Clearcoat would be wise to use. But you can live without it.

Depends on where and how big the damaged area was...but the smaller stuff I don't bother.

when you say scratches, i think small, so i would say no. on the other hand, if these scratches are like you rubbed the side of your car against a tree, i would say otherwise.

the scratches range from about 1/2 inch to 2 1/2 inches long but are pretty thin
