Starting to question myself now....

****This is just an idea and about 99.9% of my ideas I never follow through with****

Overall, I am happy with my 08 GTS. But, I still kinda miss the fun I had with my SRT-4. I don't care if it was a F@#$%ing Neon, it was fast and fun to drive. I got CVT and I wish I would have gotten 5-speed. Oh well right? But what really made me sick is I was at MASTRO Subaru in Tampa yesterday before school. They had a 2007 WRX Prodrive edition for $26k. Now I paid $23.5k, thats only $2,500 more and its so much more car than my GTS. I'm thinking, I might be trading in the GTS soon.

What do you think the trade-in value on an 08 GG GTS with 8k miles would be? I owe 20k .

You'll end up upside down, no matter what. My guess is you'll get maybe 15 or 16 grand.

Don't worry, I was kind of upset I didn't get a manual either, and I'm thinking about trading mine in for the Ralliart when it comes out, because I love how the car looks, I just wish it had some more power, but I can't afford paying huge bucks all at once for performance part upgrades.

I totally understand. The SRT-4 is a lot of car for the money. Though the new Lancers look amazing, you just don't get the thrill the SRT-4 offers. I feel your pain. Just do some research and see how upside down you're going to be. If you can afford it, go for it. For $23,500, you can find a nice used Evo. Do you just not want to buy used?

I'd try to sell it to some sucker before the well-known Mitsu depreciation sets in. Try selling @ the 20k owed, and see who bites.

You're screwed, honestly.
The minute you drive off the lot, the car takes a HUGE hit in value. As said, you'll probably get 15k. So you're going to be effectively taking 7 or 8 thousand dollars of negative equity with you to that Subaru.

Which means you'd be paying nearly $35k for that WRX. Still worth it?

Well the year of the car alone should keep a certain amount of value.
Although there is an automatic 10% depreciation on it, some of the salesreps were telling me that the car doesn't truly depreciate till 2009. One of the many advantages of gettin the car early.
Now that's just what the Mitsubishi Salesmen was telling me. That's not a solidified fact.

That's why I haven't done any mods yet, cause I am interested in trading in for the Ralliart or the X. I am leaning more toward the RA version then the X simply due to the high maintenance costs in the long run..

you took the words right out of my mind. I would say sit ont he 08 for a little bit pay it off so you won`t owe so much equity then trade in. I waited a year before getting my 03 i went from a cavalier to this so.

Man, my Lancer is an auto, regret not being able to choose a stick. ( Got mine as a gift.) After much research and internet hours clocked I figured out that I'll never get what I want out of the Lancer performance wise.

So here's what I figure, since I can't sell it, (loan would be upside down,) I just have to tough it out untill I can get my money and credit straight. Not to mention I'll have to wait untill the loan and what's owed on the Lancer equalizes as well.

What I have realized though is that I'm gonna stay hungry. I'll always be looking for what I want and maybe I'll buy some shop manuals for my dream car. If you're really looking past your Lancer, I guarentee you'll know everything you need to when it comes time to buy your new ride.

Just stay hungry and work hard every day, because willpower's gonna get you your dream ride.

Me? Idk, if the car gods would grace me with their divine presence I'd find some junked 68' Charger and build a monster. Otherwise I was thinking about a 3G Eclipse, considering it's a nice balance between power, tunability (not a word?), and cost. But end game would definitely be an Evo, 7-9, so long as I get that AWD high.

(Someone delete this post if Bene was askin someone else.)
