It's at the point where i see a lancer every 5mins in NY. Tonight alone i saw 4....lol...even one right behind me at 2am in a burgerking drive thru...I love the car, its great for the price, but I hope it doesnt turn into civics where u see 1 every 4 seconds.......I'm just scared if this car gets too popular theft rates will go up...Tonight in a parking lot i saw these kids peepin my **** and i over heard them saying "yo those lights will fit on ur car(he had a old sentra)"...when i heard that It made me nervous...i dont wanna wake up one morning and see my headlights are gone or my grille im gettin from Japan(cedia) disappear...i dunno i guess i might just be gettin paranoid...

I dunno about reaching the popularity of civics, but there's certainly nothing but room for increase of popularity. Until they get a full model year or two under their belts I doubt we'll have any idea just how many Lancers are out there. A good time to see how many are on the road is to wait till x-mas and go to a mall. That was how I saw Lancers 2-6 on my Lancer watch

 

Even in Phoenix, AZ. I saw many Lancers, but rarely the OZ type.
I guess they are a popular car. Everyone seems to be getting one.

The other car that I start seeing often is the Matrix.

WRX is still rather rare.

 

now that is funny im in albuquerque new mexico and i see them more and more these days. but you are right i dont see a lot of O-Z rally lancers. mostly the aftermarket crowd seems to have them, which to me is a good thing.

nylancer, where in NY are you? I'm in Utica and I have seen a few but hardly ever. The only thing that sucks is that a week after I bought mine, they put an identical one out on the lot and some girl swiped it. I found that out when I went to the dealer to get my exhaust tip and saw my salesman and he told me. I'm kinda pissed. One of the main reasons I bought the car was because nobody else really had it, so I'm definitely with you with saying that I hope they do not become like Civics. But hey, even if they do, we can just make ours better than theirs
