Good for Mitsu! I'm glad they are getting some lost ground back. I miss the days when eclipses, galants, and were everywhere. Now you just see Hondas and Toyotas everywhere.

The car must appeal to a bigger market than was previously projected, but tuner wise I think the ES is the better deal.

You are going to end up changing stuff anyway.

There is GTS's available in my area. And of course they sell out when there isn't that many made and who's to say how many will be coming back with all the issues they are having. F this Lancer, piece of crap as far as I'm concerned at this point and Mits is handling it horribly, so it won't be long before it will be all Honda's and Toyota's again, so don't hold your breath on a Mitsu comeback.

Well I heard that they didn't plan on the GTS selling out.
I heard it was the ES, I believe that is right.
Sorry to hear about all the troubles with your whip.

My dealership has been treating me like a frikin celebrity.

Been very cooperative and extremely helpful.

The GTS did run low. But dealers should have plenty now. I know ours has had 2-3 truck loads delivered in the last 3 weeks

Yeah, but some of the things you might want to change are hardwired. I couldn't buy an ES and then go "hey, can I get the paddle shifters aftermarket?"

The way things like DRL and TPMS are hardwired into the ECU, I'm really happy I got the GTS model. It's just safer to get the nice stuff you want to start off.

Hell, I couldn't even change the stereo HU in my car without having a gaping hole...

My local dealership is usually stocked with a good assortment of ES models and 1 GTS on the floor. They are selling all the time but not to locals, they constantly have people coming from everywhere but Knoxville. There is only one other Lancer besides mine that I have seen so I think we're the only 2 '08s around town thus far.

The dealerships around my are only have about 1-3 on the lot. It's especially hard to find GTS's with Navi in my area though.

Since Ive been looking into them though, I have YET to see one, besides myself, on the road.

from what my dealer said, the reason why its so hard to find a GTS is cause Europe seems to be doing better with sales. He told me that the demand for GTS are great in the US but better in Europe. and i think thats why the European lancers get more accessories and modifications than the ones in the US. idk if its true, but thats what he told me.
