Do most people use a matte black or flat black? And also, clear coat or none?

 

I prefer Gloss Black, honestly. But choosing between Matte and Flat, I think I'd go Matte.

I'd do the full job - prime, paint, clearcoat. Just makes the most sense.

What about the mesh from an RRM grill? Any tips?

 

Black paint, painter's tape, and old newspaper...just got mine done this weekend before NOPI! That tropical storm better not disrupt my plans!

 

exactly. I painted my rmm grill mesh, hood mesh and apc mesh for my bumper this way. clean, primer, paint, gloss. I did a lot of coats.. like 3 coats primer, 4 coats paint, 3 coats clear. Is overkill but my rrm grill has not chipped and ive only had to touch up my bumper mesh twice from rocks. heres a pic.
