compatability between lancers... please help.
I would like to know what parts will fit my car off of other lancers. I have a 2006 mitsubishi lancer es. I want to know what year of tail lights and head lights will fit my car. also if the seats out of a 2003 lancer es will fit my 2006. I appreciate any answers, you can respond to me at k_digges@hotmail.com thank you.
ok if you want me to give you some brain work.... what motor/transmission should I go with? Im wanting to convert to a 5 speed and I didnt know if I could upgrade from the ES motor while I was at it... I've already got one members page that did a conversion himself and it cost roughly 1100. what info can you give me on this topic?
heh.. I believe it will cost quite a bit more than that, unless you do all the work yourself and get a junkyard trans.
- 5sp trans
- 5sp ECU
- Appropriate wiring harnesses
- Clutch pedal and assembly
- Shifter and linkage
- 5 speed center console
- misc parts to complete the job
If you upgraded the motor, you might as well just buy a new car.

Interesting.
Transmission - if you want to do a 5mt swap, that's a decent choice. I assume you're just using a 5mt from a Lancer, so you seem to know what you're doing there.
Motor - it's more difficult. The easiest swap is the 4G64 (see the stickied thread in the engine forum for helpful info). Some folks try the 4G63T, but you don't see too many successes with that swap.
My honest advice to you: keep the AT. Instead of swapping the motor, tear it down, drop in forged pistons and rods, slap on a turbo kit. With the right kit and tune, you can easily be pushing over 200whp. Fun times.

yeah it would cost alot and be a lot of work so I probly wont do it. I really wish I had a 5 speed..... they are so much more fun to drive..... but the reason I would do all the work to this particular car is cause I bought it wrecked and rebuilt it to what it is now..... If I were to just buy a new car I would never be able to get as good of a deal on it as I did this, I bought the car for 2800.00 wrecked and after rebuilding to where I am now I only have about 7000.00 in it.. If you want to see it my cardomain site is in my profile.. feel free to tell me what you think of it and ne suggestions on what to do to it.. ne ways till next post.
