Sounds to me like you're not the only one with a crappy launch...

ok, the idea is to find the point where you have the clutch as close to slipping as possible. One way to try it out is to work your way up the revrange and see when the clutch starts slipping. then there's also some way to adjust it through how fast you apply the clutch. The fastest way is just to let the clutch go, but probably not the most effective unless you have a superstrong clutch. So, start at something like 2000 revs that you hold and then let the clutch go quickly and then go up by 1000 revs until it starts slipping and then work your way to the optimum bite point. Of course as soon as the clutch bites and the car is moving, floor it. This WILL destroy your clutch though, so when you do this a lot your clutch will fail. It can also happen very quickly, so be careful.

how do you know when it slips? everytime i launch i just get the revs o about 2000 then i just drop the clutch...or sometimes i will just even it out very quickly which is making me worry about stalling.

you will know that your clutch is slipping when an increase in revs does not yield a proportionate increase in speed (i.e. when the revs go up but you don't go anywhere), you will also smell it. Smells like $$ burning.

well, yes, if you drop the clutch at too low revs, you will stall the engine.

It wouln't hurt to have some $$ saved on the side for a replacement as well. BTW, you can practice your launching in a empty parking lot. If you go to the track try to stage the car the same way every time. Once you get proficient at your current launch style look at your 60 ft times and analyze.
