What is the difference (in installation) between an Electronic Gauge (Boost/EGT/Oil Pressure) and a Mechanical Gauge? and Which gives you better accuracy?

Mechanical Gauges - Use external solenoids/sensors ?
Electronic Gauges - Connect directly to the ECU wires?
