Gts, Evo X, Es Info
Gts, Evo X, Es Info
Just got back from my dealership from having my car serviced today (Recall on window trim, loose window seal, and a chaise lube)and had a lengthy talk with my Mitsu rep. The GTS IS not being made anymore and a new ES appearance package has now been manufactured with a little lip rear spoiler(Gay) and tech package available for that trim no ground effects. My dealership has one X on order due in the last week of December to the first week of January and it is the GSR the MR's are due out in March. The wheels for the GTS are for sure not being made anymore and they said that mitsu isn't going to make up the ES to look like the GTS minus the sport tuned suspension and large all wheel disc brakes. That doesn't mean that a dealership wont buy the ground effects and stick them on there at their or somebody else's request. This is all the info he had at this point and time if any new info comes out I will post up on it ASAP.
The price of the GTS has gone up quite a bit. If you go onto the mitsubishi web site, and build and price a GTS with what USED to cost 22,615 FULLY LOADED, now cost 26,XXX with the same options....
I just tried the build thing on mitsu's main site and it came out to be 22715. Had me all excited there for a minute :|
oyeh: don't pick both navi packages
edit: ok... i just checked mitsubishi motor's site and it has it priced at 26293...

wonder if the RA has anything to do with this. 26k for a "regular" lancer is crazy IMO. but i'd gladly pay 26k for a RA. seems to be the plan? get rid of the GTS and add the RA? maybe all those rumors of a 2.4L GTS is really the 2.4L turbo awd RA?
the way i see it, there really isn't a point in having a GTS trim with more power (possibly from a 2.4L NA engine?) if it's gonna cost about the same as a RA with turbo AWD. the lancer always was an econocar. the current GTS always seemed to me to have been a bit pricey for a lancer, even if you get a LOT of stuff stock.

Due big time, if thats the case and they make an inferior car from 2009 and forward, there will be a 20% premium on our GTS cars easy.
meaning you got more leverage if you want to trade your car in for the EVOX

The so called RA may be turbocharged but most likely wont be AWD, the spy pics Ive seen dont show any sign of a rear differential which means no AWD, unless they make it an option, but anyway this is a bit

I just checked the US mitsu site and I see nothing about this change. I still can price out a GTS CVT with Nav and Tech and still have the price around 22,715.
I hope this change isnt true instantly because I'm going to the dealer today to pick up my GTS as the dealer I talked to Tuesday said they were getting a shipment in today! I'll be pissed if I have to pay more suddenly!

Its anybodys guess what the future of the GTS is gonna be. At this point its all speculation but stock definitely appears to be on the low side....
It seems a lot of dealers here were dressing up the ES with the GTS spoilers and aero trim, in an effort to entice potential GTS buyers. Looks like thats pretty much what Mitsubishi themselves have gone and down now and badged it the SE. Basically seems like an effort to keep the customer's coming in while they try and cope with the high GTS demand.
