Unhappy spark plug trouble SUX!!!

Man I sure felt like a dumbass today! Yesterday, my car started idleing really really low, and was jerking a little. The "service engine soon" light came on, too. Right away I thought my MAS was screwed up so I started taking out my intake and putting back in my stock airbox. Then after driving it around for a while, every time I let off the gas, RPM's dropped so low, the car just shut off. I got really pissed and a little worried because it was sunday, and the dealer isn't open til monday. I was also worried because i pulled one of my plugs, and it was white as hell, usually meaning that I'm running really lean which is very bad! Well, today, after going crazy looking for my airbox parts, I decided to friends computer thing to find out the diagnosis code. It said PO300, and I had no clue what that meant. Well I went to the dealer and asked them, before I had them check the car, and they said it was probably just the spark plugs. Sure enough, after changing my spark plugs, My baby runs beautifully again! I felt like such an ***! I went through all that trouble, and all that worrying for just some spark plugs! I need to get used to these new new cars! Well just wanted to tell my story. Maybe spare someone else that $56 charge they were gonna charge me if I had asked the dealer to do it.

13,000 miles... but I really beat my car, so they probably would've lasted longer.

spark plugs should last u a while..even though i changed mine around 8000 miles

what spark plugs were in there stock for u? i had the NGK Iridiums..which is weird cause i was actually thinking of putting those in and im glad i didnt lol.

u might wanna find out why your spark plug crapped out like that..and if it's WHITE that's pretty bad, it should be black carbon coated if u beat it and ****.

Yhea, 28600 on mine. Warranty is almost up...need to have those damn rear control arms looked at right quick.

EDIT: While we're on this subject, what plugs do other members recommend? I know this has been covered before, but here's a shiny new thread regrading plugs, maybe some newer members would enjoy the information.

Last time I checked the search function was still operation for both old and new members alike. There are basically two very nice plugs and they're either from NGK or Denso.

sail,ez4me and yellow why did you go over the recommended change interval on your plugs? the manual recommends changing them at 15000 miles.

I inspected the plugs at 15000 and 25000. They still have nice clean ends and seem to spark well enough to burn off the juice.

Since 30k is coming fast, it's time to retire them, regardless of how well they are working.

Pjal, I am well aware the search function is still in working order. I use it rather frequently, to avoid being lept upon by hundreds of bloodthirsty members just itching to say "USE SEARCH!"

I know a lot of people don't bother to do it. I wasn't using this as an excuse to be lazy, I've been around here way too long to be lazy.

Thank you for listing some plugs that we might want to look into. That's all I asked for. Surprisingly, you're the only one who told me to search. I'm used to seeing people jump for the chance to tell someone to search...and now I'm rambling senselessly. I'll shut up now.
