And a real lancer is an evo right? I can't afford it, but the evo is my dream car. I'll have to settle for a ralliart but ralliarts aren't that fast unless you go turbo.

A swap is expensive, even if you have a donor and can get labor cheap. If you really want a standard lancer, see how much it would cost to trade your car in for a standard lancer. Pretty much any other car will be faster than the lancer in its class. So any pick would be ok most likely. I have an 04 lancer oz auto with intake, muffler, lightweight pulley, and all the strut bars, and 17" rims. My friend with an 03 lancer manual, muffler, intake, 18" rims, 2 15" subs, screens, and all kinds of stuff. We raced around and he beat me bad every time.

Yeah, I'm thinking about just going to a junkyard and starting on a project car for cheap. I like my auto lancer but I wan't performance over looks.

Junkyard for a project car? Do you mean get a "totalled" car and make it fast? I would say get a junker like a 240sx or something that you can make fast for decently cheap. I guess it depends on what you can find. Let us know what you decide.

Non-us cars, you're looking at *used* cars. I'm not sure what you're budget is, but the S2000 can be had pretty cheap. The 350Z is also getting there. Alternatively, you can shoot for a 03 Evo. Only problem with that is, you'll have to deal with 101 problems.

You want performane over looks?? How about buy something that has more than 120 HP? You understand a lancer has nothing performance about it, right? if you want performance spend $16K on a used WRX.

This has been disscussed a lot. I plan to do the swap on my car when its paid off and I can really tinker with it. Can get tranny at junk yards for less then $500. I bet I could get all the parts for under a grand and I will do it myself. Its really not that hard to convert. Its just having the tools to do it.

True^. How does your 08 GTS compare to an 03 lancer es?

I got a 300zx for 13 g's
and it will destroy half the guys cars on this forum even if they dont have stock
If you have money
dont put it to waist on weak cars
I tried doing that to my 03 lancer es
but its not worth it man
its a quick car for 8 g's
but its hard to get more hp for that car
get a turbo in your auto
maybe that will help

I don't think the resell value is that high but I'll check it out. And I want to learn to drive manual but I guess I'll teach my self how to drive manual. Its like one decision to make either have a car note with no mods on the car or not have one and mod it to the bone.
