New car mileage

So how many miles can be expected on a new car coming from the factory?

Would it be a bad idea to purchase one that has about 150 miles on it since the first few hundred miles are an important part of the break-in process?

Those can either be transportation miles or test drive miles. Couldn't hurt to ask and see what the dealership claims.

I think I bought my car with 8 on the clock, so I can't really say 100%. I honestly would probably buy it, but that's just me.

Wow, 150? I purcahsed my Ix with 6 miles. What explanation have they given you for that many miles? Maybe they had an issue with the car. Try asking for some sort of discount or free maintenance for that slightly used evo.

Should be OK. Those miles are probably due to test driving.

I was just wondering...my car isn't in yet

To make a long story short, I ordered a manual and they brought in an automatic...so now I'm back to waiting for my car.

I asked because my friend purchased an RSX a couple years back and when he got it, there was ~150 miles on it. He refused to buy it and made them bring in a new one. I just don't want to make a big deal out of it if it's quite normal to have that many miles on it.

or it could have been used by salesman who usually rip on the cars in my experience working at dealership.

I test drove a Civic a while back and I ripped on the car, so think about that too. My 08 had 9 miles on it

my 08 had 82 miles on it, but thats because my dealer didn't have any more 08s left and the shipment kept getting delayed (after i waited a month and a half) so he told me he could trade one of their 08s (a teal looking one) for the electric blue one that another dealer had. So he had to drive the teal 08 to a different lot, and then drive my blue one from a different lot to their dealership. I didn't get any discount on it tho.
