Waranty?! Who needs a warranty?
I figure if you replace as much as possible, there's nothing left to warranty.

Make your own goals. With enough money anything is possible (though not necessarily practical or probable).

Tuning WRX's is expensive. I love the bug-eyed WRX's, but I don't think I could afford to drive one and tune it too. If you can, more power to you. Best of luck.

I put new rims, tires, short ram intake, dynomax muffler, bosch platinum +4 spark plugs, graphic kit, tinted windows, custom interior painting, sound system, spent about $2100, so i did a more for show than performance, im takin it one step at a time. I dont want to get to far on one and not the other...why be a sleeper when you can kick some a$$ and look good all at the same time.

I voted for other, because I am really disguested with my car now. For some reason it just pissed me off after the autocrosses this weekend. The car has no power at any RPM, gets extremely bogged down below 2300 RPMs, has a nasty looking front grill, over priced, crummy gas mileage, handling sucks because the car is too tall, no decent aftermarket struts or brake pads, etc, etc (with a 2.0 liter engine you should be able to get either power, or good gas mileage, this car has neither). So, I'm contemplating selling it and getting something a little more enjoyable.

The only good thing I can say about the car is quality of manufacturing. The car has been out for two years now, and for a first run of a new generation of vehicle, it seems to be holding up well. No recalls have been issued yet and I don't think I've heard of anyone with major manufactuing defects. (oops, forgot about the squeeking struts)

LivelyJay, I agree autocrosses will **** anyone off with a regular Lancer. I have had quite a few teething problems, but you just have to put it in prospective. Im running against Civic SI's, Celicas, 2.5 RS's, and other more powerful machinery. Not to mention I need a crash course in how to autocross a fwd car. Because of this, I feel like the underdog going in, so its much better when I pull something off. Learn to drive a slow car fast, and that can be a good base point to drive more powerful machinery in the future.

At any rate, I think all of you who are ******* the Lancer and own one are a bit out of touch. I mean you test drove the car, right? What did you expect from 120 hp and a 3000+ lb car? Yes the car is ***** slow. Yes its suspension in stock form is soft. But again, didnt you realize what you were getting into when you bought it?

Might I ask how you are running against those cars? Those are all in GS and the Lancer is in HS. Any ways, I was coming from a Honda Civic EX and it didn't have any power whatsoever, not to mention no torque. I think it was rated at 124/105, which transponds to 105hp and in the 88 range for torque. The only thing that car had going for it was weight (2300 lbs) and the independant rear suspension.

So coming from the Civic the Lancer is a big improvement as far as torque goes, but it's unfortunate that the engine can't rev to the moon like the Honda engine. Also, the Civic could get great gas mileage (40+ highway), which is apparant with a 1.6 liter engine. It just doesn't make sense to me why we have a 2.0 liter engine, with no significant gains in power, and really crummy gas mileage. I mean the Corolla gets 32/40, has a 1.8L DOHC engine, and gets 130/125. Also it costs less then the Lancer. Anything wrong with this picture?

Well, the Lancer is a Lancer.. Suspension wise, its tight already, just lower it.. Body is aiight for now.. No tight kits out there that you can order easily.. So i would say work on your performance or the engine... It will look better.. May look slow.. So what.. You got the pushin speed!
