Opinions needed...Lancer model

Hey guys and gals,

I would like to know what you guys would do in my situation. I currently have the ability to spend at most $26K on a new car. However, I am not sure what direction to take. The options I've been looking at currently are:

1) Buy brand new Lancer GTS w/ sun, sound, nav, tech options.

2) Used Evo IX hopefully under 30K miles

3) Wait for the 08' or 09' Lancer Ralliart

4) Save the cash for another year to get an Evo X.

I'm currently using an 03 Lancer ES and I'm really wanting to get another car. I can't decide what is the best direction to take in my situation. Its nice to have a brand new car...but its hard to resist the turbo...what would you guys go with?

Option 3 or Option 2 would be best.

It depends on what condition your current car is in & whether or not you need all the gadgets in the GTS. I would suggest waiting for the Ralliart, but that would take all of your money. If you have a good paying job & don't really need a new car right now, I would say wait to get a X. All the little so called "kinks" would have gotten worked out, it'll be damn faster than the GTS & Ralliart & hey it's a new car.

I would say option 2 because its a tried and true competitor. However you may want to wait and see option 3 and by then you may have enough money for option 4!

The decision is ultimately up to you. If you want all out speed, buy the used evo or save for the new X. If you want good performance for a good price, get the ralliart. If you want fuel efficiency and don't care about performance, get the GTS.

26k will buy a MazdaSpeed3 and have anywhere from 2K to 4K left over to do some mods.

If you have enough money, put a huge down payment on a EVO X.

You could get a WRX for that price too.

Lol I would wait for the Ralliart. Or get a 2008 lancer but nt the GTS. In my opinion a manual ES is the best in the range. Who needs all those fancy extras that just add weight?

Lol cause people who buy 8 second cars are concerned about extra weight. If I bought a car like a lancer again, I would get every option possible to make the slow trip comfortable and enjoyable.

Definetly, From what i've researched it doesnt take much to get a WRX to a STI level, only a couple k invested in a cobb kit. Im thinking of going that route also.

However if you want to be with mitsubishi, i would say go for a evolution IX.

To keep up with an STI takes maybe 2K$ as far as the engine is concerned.

I would be apprehensive about buying a used EVO. I personally wouldn't do it.

^Same, I don't like the idea of buying a used performance car period.
