1) There are other platforms out there better suited for this. In the end, you will spend less money.

2) Personall experience. My MS3 can go 0 to 60 in about 5.5 seconds. Let me tell you, that is hard to do on the factory tires and with FWD. I have to have traction control on. Otherwise, there will be two long black marks on the pavement.

3) To each there own. I would be impressed with a Lancer GTS that went 0 to 60 in 5 seconds. If you go forth with this, I wish you the best of luck.

I would think 4 to 5 grand is a good start. I would figure double that amount. I have a question for any Lancer owners that are turbo'd. What are your 0 to 60 times?

well.... I can tell ya you'll have to do more than just install "bolt-ons" to do it... if you want to do it ~now~ then you'll have to fabricate, engineer, and do a bunch of testing and machine work on your own...

There's a turbo kit on the horizon...

Installing all of the high performance engine items available right now won't get you to under 5...

I suppose gutting the interior out and installing all the current high-perf engine items might get you close to 6...

You make no sense! If your asking how much money it would cost, you obviously have deep pockets!

GET A DIFFERENT CAR!

Maybe an Evo X!

Why in the world would you get a car that you have to replace and redo so much and invest so much money, not even invest, cuz the car wont sell for more after you spend that $$$$ in it, to get it under 5 seconds.

Look at the amount of work/money people here do to get there cars to 10.00 seconds!

Sounds like a bad idea.

Lets get straight to the answer here. Whats your budget?

You're basically going to have to get the hp above 300 hp, drop the weight, rebuild the transmission, install a LSD and probably run on slicks. I would wager at least 15000$ or more to do that if you don't break anything, which you will. An STI makes 300 hp and is AWD and they can just get below the 5 second mark. Evos are the same. According to Road and Track, the new evo has a 4.9 second 0-60 (in the GSR model, the MR is slower) while the STI has a 5.0 second 0-60. If you get the CVT transmission, you don't stand a chance unless you want to blow transmissions left and right.
