Personally, even if I got a CF roof, I'd paint it to match the car... The edge lips/ridges would be enough to cue others in to it not being "normal" for my preferences
Yes, this is true.

I agree - I've always been a fan of painted CF. Something about that little bit of "sleeper" has always appealed to me.

I agree, but this is my first black car, so I'd like to have the black paint and the black carbon so that you do the "double-take" when you see it

Black cars shouldn't paint CF parts. It's a rule (for me, at least). It blends so well, but still stands out. Black & CF is definitely a good look.

looks good but probably cost a lot to replace a roof unless that goes on top of the OEM roof(i doubt it)

No, this is a replacement for weight savings. Not a bling part.

I agree completely. Black and CF blend so well together, and there really is no need to paint the CF, regardless of what CF piece it is.

On another note, anyone get this yet, or plan on getting it? I know I am, but of course, I need the money for it first

is it only a pound lighter than the Evo X roof, or do the 2008 lancers share the same roof. I want to get this (and other carbon fiber parts) but if im only saving a pound, I think i will just loose a pound on the toilet. But if the 08 lancers use a steel roof, and the evo uses aluminum, then its a different story. (I also want to keep my sunroof, I know i should get rid of it, but I want a daily driver as well as a nice sleeper car)

Your Lancer has a steel roof. Going from a steel roof with sunroof to a cf one would be quite a big drop in weight.

Sadly, I know I'll never get this. I was really happy to get the sunroof; I ain't giving it up.

The ES non sunroof is an aluminium roof so there is no point in getting the CF roof unless u really want it and u got the cash

Besides the actual parts and mitsubishi information no. Maybe its just the spec we get here. Quite a lot of the panels are aluminium except for the bonnet which is steel.
