Lancer to Evo transformation

Hi everyone, this is my first post.

I want to mount a full Evolution on a normal Lancer car platform. I was wondering if a normal Lancer has the same platform (CT9A) as the Evo (2003). And what kind of trouble I could be faced with during the transformation.

I have gotten some rumors like the gas tank is different to make room for the rear traction, but that's nothing big.

My reason for this, is that were I live (Costa Rica), the import taxes for an Evo are exagerated!, so I want to buy a Lancer and bring a salvage Evo as repair parts to build my own. It's kind of a wild project, but if possible, I would really like it.

Regards,

Felipe

The best place to post this would be in the lancer forums to see if anyone has done this before, which they most likely have. Are you doing all the mechanical and body work yourself? If not, the best way to go would be paying the taxes and getting an actual evo.

Good luck on your project!

It will cost you more to turn a lancer into an evo than it would be to just buy an evo, even with taxes, insurance, etc.
