its all the same except the engine I took one out at lunch today and its not much more powerful than my 08 gts. Inside is the same aswell as all the options are the same. only the gts seems to be coming with the 2.4 all other trim levels appear to have the 2.0 We just received like 8 2009 gts' and about 20 of the other levels.

^^ I understand they are in stock in canada but I just called 3 dealers in the Boston area and none of them have 09 lancers yet, the soonest they said was a few weeks until they are in.

Wow, that sucks. Do they change the features that much between Canada and the US?

^^ As far as I know the engines are the same but the GTS version in the states will lack leather and heated seats.

not much more powerful? i mean objectively +21 tq has gotta do something for the butt dyno right? subjectively the motor trend article mentioned that they certianly felt a bit more pep. not a kick in the pants, but certainly SOMETHING...

i really hope this isn't another 08 owner trying to make himself feel better...

09 GTS FTW

Why would it "objectively" do something? Who's butt is so well calibrated that it can read the difference between 152 and 168 horsepower? Or 167 and 146 torque?

I'm happy with my 2008. I'm not going to cry over "missing out" on a couple HP or TQ. Because the car isn't very damn fast in the first place. I didn't buy a racecar.

I am waiting for a 2.4 so I can dyno it straight from the dealership, but they dont have any yet, and I also have to wait till it gets past the broken in mark before I make it scream on the dyno I would hate to ummm break in a car that will give someone problems later on . muahahah

Remember those are flywheel ratings too. 16 hp at the flyway can translate to 5whp, which Many people will not notice.

objectively there is a difference. 21 ft lbs. my question was the opposite of yours. who's butt ISN'T going to feel SOMETHING. +16 hp and +21 ft lbs isn't so minuscule a figure that you'd expect to not feel it. people gain optimistically +10 hp with an intake and they say they can feel the extra power or whatever. but +16 hp and +21 ft lbs won't be felt? something isn't right with that picture. and i'd wager it's human error vs hard numbers.

you're happy with the car, others aren't so enthused that their 08 got replaced with a more powerful car the next year...

but this is a true apples to apples comparo. same everything. slightly different engine. drivetrain losses would be expected to remain the same. +21 ft lbs? c'mon who can't feel that?
