Custom Intakes/IC piping-- INTEREST????

ok so im currently in the process of making some custom 2.5'' intercooler piping for my 16g set up. because the evo ic piping doesnt fit well at all on the drivers side and the upper pipe hits the hood. so i got to thinking since i have this bender and can get a nice deal on aluminum pipe through my dads business i thought i might try and make a small profit, as well as make some pretty nice pipes for people.

my plan is to start to make cold air intakes for people who want them, and sell them for less than half of what it would cost to buy a new one.

im planning on useing 2.5'' aluminum pipe, rubber cupplers (can prolly get them them in black, red, or blue), buy a bunch of adapters for the maf sensor to hook up to, and some nice k&n filters. i can paint the pipes pretty much any color you want, and put a nice clear over them. i could also polish them for a little extra if you would like.

i have an 03 oz, so right now i could easily make them for the 02-03 modles. but if you want a 04+ i will need somone who is willing to send me their intake that they already have so i can get the bends right. who ever does this i would be willing to make them one for pretty much what it will cost me to make one, and send it back with the intake they sent me, they just pay for shipping. and then after that i will be able to coppy the bend design and make and sell the 04+ modles as well.

i can also make custom intercooler pipes for evo 8's as well as intercooler pipes for your 02-03 16g projects.

this is all just talk right now, but i really want to do this if i have enough people interested! i would like someone who is even remotly interested to pm me and maybe i could hook them up with a deal on one just so i can have someone tell everyone they really are quality and not just junk.

give me some feed back guys!!!

oh and mods, let me know if i would need to be a vendor to do this.

HONESTLY i think that these days for cai and sri people usually just get the cheap ebay ones and upgrade the filters. its really all the same. maybe if you get IC pipes done it would be more interesting? since you already have the 16G you'll know which pipes you need to bend and what not and just sell that? i dunno.. but usually ebay is like 30-50 dollars for either sri or cai. i don't think it would be worth all the work.

just a heads up! but props for entrepreneurship skills.

yeah thats what i was thinkin too as far as the intakes go. but i was planning on selling them for about 60 already with a k&n and i could pait them up or polish them. so as far as upgradeing the filter and gettin an ebay one you would be saving a little.

and yeah ill ask some of the other 16g guys if they are interested in me makeing some ic pipes.

If you plan on selling, you need to be a vendor.

hmm, it would be cool to see an alternative to evo ic pipes, but mine fit perfect w/no problems.

Looking forward to see some pics though

If you can figure out the piping for a turbo set up on an 06 lemme know. I'd like to throw some numbers together to see how much a customer 16g set up would cost me on mine.

hmm well did you have to mod them at all? cuz ive tried everything for the drivers side pipe to fit better and the only way i can get it to hook up is for it to hang like 6inches from the ground and my upper pipe rubs the hood some when you shut it

Again, you need to be a vendor to do this. Shutting down thread in 3 . 2 . 1 .
