interesting problem with the wipers

so i'm driving home today and its extremely rainy the whole drive (about 3 hrs) so my wipers are on the whole time. after a while i start to notice blackish rubber marks appearing on my front window from the wiper blades. and not just small spots, but there is almost a full straight line of it where the drivers side wiper ends its motion (vertical). has anyone else noticed anything like this? i'm sure i can just wash the rubber off the window so that doesn't bother me, but what exactly could have caused this? and now i wonder if i should get new wipers already too.

Its actually rubber from the wiper? Sounds odd. lol. Maybe new wipers are in order. Did grease somehow make its way onto the wiper?

i quickly rubbed my finger on the glass where the black stuff was and it didn't just wipe off or smudge so its not any sort of grease i don't think. it was still raining when i got home so i didn't spend much time inspecting the wipers but i will check for any unusual wear on them tomorrow.

The stock wipers are nothing special, but it would seem weird that they'd be shot already. Mine started leaving a mark after awhile (not a black one like yours, but you could definitely tell where the blades stopped) and I replaced them with some PIAA Super Silicone blades and haven't had the problem since. Basically, it wouldn't have been too long before you replaced 'em anyway, so you might as well do it now.
