Wow. So the early adopters get shafted again, ouch!

As usual I imagine this wont even be available for Canadian Lancers so I guess I'm not too perturbed.

shafted again

i wonder how much the touring package will be... GTS with Touring package would be a very nice daily driver/beater. 10 year warranty, stability control, 87 octane, 2.4L 167 ft lbs, etc...

Probably in the $2000-$2500 range I would guess. Real shame though I wouldve loved to have HID projectors on our cars. It should been an option from the start like other countries.

I picked up an 09 two weeks ago before I knew this touring package was going to be available. I'm sure it will be an extra 2k more, and all I would really be interested in are the headlights. I could care less about rain sensing wipers, and traction control probably won't be needed, I don't drive crazy in the rain/snow.

Anyways, someone else had mentioned since the headlights will officially become available they can probably be ordered from mitsu parts seperately. It would be worth it if I could swap out my existing lights for those new xenon projectors in a few months assuming they won't cost more then a grand.

THanks Joneboi! traction control will be a good addition for the lancer. It will definately feel like a rally inspired car with ease haha.

I've only lost traction in the rain... I think I can live without TC.

Well u got the ES, so u wouldnt have really noticed a difference unless you got the 09 GTS.

That does kinda suck though, hope you negotiated them down to a really good deal.

Im guessing those HID headlights would fit our 2008 lancers too? If so, I want them.

Yea they will probably fit perfect on any of the 08/09 lancers.

The actual headlight swap will be easy probably, but I wonder how hard it would be to hook up the leveling switch and auto on/off functionality....

If I could have the dealer do it and warranty the work, I would probably pay up to a grand to get them. I love projector HIDs!

yea with the rebate and the javits center thing i got it for 16,500. very decent. but yea if i knew they would have had a 2.4 liter 4 cylinder coming out i would have put down the extra money because it didn't seem justifiable to buy a higher trim level for just a body kit and a spoiler. especially when it's very easily done at home for less money.

I highly doubt the HID's are going to be simple plug and play guys. Lets not get ahead of our selves here.

Our cars are equipped with DRL's on the lowbeam, and this is electronically controlled by the ECU. On the Lancer's with HID's, I think they send the DRL to where the highbeams would be on our car. Therefore those cars would use different headlight wiring, and a different code in the ECU.

Personally I would be satisfied with just getting the projector housings, and running them with aftermarket HID's.
