I have some questions about the ES and the OZ model. What is the difference between the two? Is there anything under the hood? Is the body different? I know some things are like the spoiler, but I was planning on putting on an EVO VII wing anyways.
Also are did any of you buy an OZ Rally model as your first car? If so how high were your interest rates? Because the dealer said I have new credit so my rate is going to be higher.
Thanks

Between the OZ and the ES - the only thing REALLY different is the OZ body kit, Rims and the spoiler
I think with the OZ (I have an ES) you get 6 speakers, whereas mine has 4. You also have the option of cruise control, and different interior. Sunroof option is also available. Those are the only obvious ones I know of - never been in an OZ yet - so anyone with an OZ - correct me on my mistakes and help me out some more!

on the oz your get, oz wheels, (duh) oz body kit, a wimpy rear sway bar crusise control is standerd not a option the evo 7 style gauge pod (the es one is thugly) the spoilers is a option but hard to find one without it the oz has fake brushed aluminum panels where the es had wood grain othere then that its prittymuch the same basicly if u plan on putting a body kit on your car then u dont need the oz oh yea they both have the same stereo
If you have to get a lancer go with the OZ. But if thats your price range get something else. They are slow cars with little features. I had mine for a year and a half. Totaled it and got my catera cheaper than what my lancer cost. And I have sunroof, leather, bose system, and A LOT faster car. Ive been really dissapointed with mitsubishi lately. 2 of my friends transmissions have gone out in there cars lately with less than 60k on them. My clutch burned out the first year. The paint on the lancer sucks. Most dont have clear coats. And the brakes get squeaky after 7000 miles. I suggest you look into a different car. You will be happier.
Lancer OZ and ES... difference are the RIMS and the bodykit... and little differ about the interior... mitsubishi gives pretty good material to made of the car interior... u won't get the same thing on the civic or corolla with the same amount of the price... hehe
clutch and transmissions are smooth, aqsmooth84 's burn out this quik... buddy, this is really depend on driver's driving habitat, im not trying to say something bad about u, but thats true

Yea im sure my driving had something to do with the clutch. But most people want to have some fun in the car. I wasnt doing long burnouts or anything stupid. As far as the transmissions I was talking about my 2 friends Mitsubishis. One had a 2000 eclipse and the other a 98 galant. Both transmissions were dead before 60k. With no help from mitsu to get a new one.
my family has had a few mitsubishi's and neither of us have had a single transmission problem yet (97 eclipse and 98 galant) before i got my lancer. have 7535 miles on my lancer in a lil over a year and not a squeeky break yet.
lol I do however have chips in my door because of parking lots.
i guess I could have got a used car for cheaper, but I wanted something with a long warrenty straight from the maker which in most cases means new.

Yeah, I have scratches on the paint - and swirls too - but on black, anything shows. And I'm almost at 9000 miles and my brakes squeak - so does my drivers side windo when I'm rolling it down - but only when it's raining
why would you roll your windows down while its raining?
jp. Everything different between the OZ and ES has been stated up above... so If you plan to customize it, go with the ES. You're paying a couple thousand bucks more for stuff you may change anyways... not worth it. I decided to get the ES because Im putting an Evo VII body kit and wing on my car in a month or so... so I didnt feel the need to spend extra money getting the factory spoiler or wing! Plus, I dont care for the OZ wheels anyways!

Definately go with the ES if your gonna do mods anyways, me I couldn't decide, so I went with LS, kinda in the middle right. btw, I'm at almost 9k in about 8 months and I haven't heard any squakin on my brakes or my windows. I do hear this weird as like flapping noise when all four are rolled down though, still can't figure out what the hell it is.
Every brand of car has their single prob on it... if u use around $14k to buy a new car, what u gonna get? i think i made a good choice to get my lancer otherthan civic, corolla, and ******* hyundai accent.
and anothing as they said if u wanna mod ur lancer, just get the ES then

So how much is the ES going for I know someone posted on another message that if you pay more than 15,000 for an OZ its too much what wouldbe too much for the ES?
I paid $13,400 for mine used from a Mitsu Dealer. I pretty much got raped seeing as I could have got one BRAND NEW with Mitsu's 0 Down, 0 Payment for a year deal. I got a Waranty and a free clear coat, so all-in-all, I'm over it. I love my car, so to ME, it was worth the money.
