Remove de-badging clear coat leftovers?

I recently debadged my car, and I am wondering how I would remove this:

I have tried wet sanding with 1500 grit, but to no avail. I even tried rubbing compound, but that makes it stand out worse! Please help!

Try getting some petroleum distillate(its an adhesive solvent) and try rubbing it off. Be careful because too much and it can remove the clear coat and paint. That is most likely dirt on the adhesive that is left over. Or you are one of the unlucky few that dirt and possibly wax has built up and created a permanent outline.

If it is just adhesive stuff, try peanut butter. Leave it on for like an hour, and then go out and wash it off. If it is worse than the adhesive stuff (etched in the paint) good luck.

I tried a clay bar, goo gone, gasoline... nothing would get the shadow off mine and it's all the way across my trunk: LANCER

If anything works for you, please let me know lol

It is not the goo left over, it is etched into my clear coat. 1500 grit sand paper and rubbing compound dont work. Anything else?

Do you have a high speed buffer? Get some polishing compound and put some heat on it. Be careful though, if you don't know what you are doing, you can burn out the paint.

It looks like it could be that some one painted the trunk before and instead of removing the letters, they just cleared over them.... Is the clear around the outlines raised higher than the inner part of the letters?
