So i rigged up an intake on my own. Is it good?

As you know from the other threads, my intake basically snapped and was hanging off from my car. So i had to find another one, but i was asking around how i can rig one up. So i messed around and i think i figured it out on my own.

I used the stock snorkel, the MAF or whatever (i dont know the names), and then a heat shield i got from a friend (goes for his Eclipse, but i think its universal). I drilled a hole into the heat shield and mounted it onto the bracket hole.

Is it good? Here are pics.

Well job man. I was just about to send you pics of my intake where the MAF was bolted in to support it all but looks like you handled it very well. DIY FTMFW!

Yeah i checked, definately the biggest i can fit comfortably would be the 6" that i already have. K&N filters run like $50ish right? It might have to wait im a little broke.

I actually got an old air filter from my friend, he used it for about 1,000 miles. Its an Injen air filter. Only problem is that it has a few, i guess, "dents" in the filter lining, would that make a difference?

Here is a picture:

How is this filter? Would it be efficient?

yeah it will work just fine as long as there is no holes on the filter.

I had some similar smashes in an old injen cone filter I used to use. Never had a problem with it.

Don't know. It's a nice system, except the filter was too long, not sure if they remedied that fitment issue. I've had the SRI system for 5? years.

I can post a picture of it with the K&N cone filter later, if you want.
