^^ yea right, there is no way you could get OTD for 21 if your getting nav and sun and sound. maybe if it was a manual with no options at all.

You go into the dealership, tell them what you want. Have your financing already. Tell them that someone is going to get your money in the next few weeks. Tell them how much you are willing to pay for Tax/Title/Registration, keys in the jeans and out the door. Don't try ripping them off and expect the same in return. The worst a dealsership can say is no and you're off to another dealership.

Be willing to walk out that door if they do not meet your needs and don't get hurt if they say they can't do it for the price you want it for.

I have never meet a dealer that is unwilling to make a profit. So long as that profit isn't obsene I don't mind paying over sticker.

Another trick is to corrispond online with someone. Get to know them and work with them over email before hand. Know what you're walking into and you shouldn't be taken for a ride. If you feel like you are being taken advantage of you are probalbly right and walk. The car will be there tomorrow.

What did you pay BEFORE TT&L. Everyone's TT&L is different.

You can buy a base EvoX GR for $30k flat from South Coast in Cali. Assuming you could get that price here (tough!) here in Texas, that would end up being around $32,250 OTD (6.25% tax + about 400-500 in other crap).

Any time you start talking out the door price you are getting screwed. Or payment.

You need to know what your negotiated price was, then the TT&L charges. These will all be on the really long piece of paper that they should have given you.

You guys down in the states should stop complaining. I got a new 09 GTS with out sun and sound here in Saskatchewan. There is 2 Mitsubishi dealerships for 1million people here. One here in Saskatoon, the Other 2.5 hrs away. The next closest is almost 6 hours away. Both Saskatchewan dealerships would NOT negotiate on price. We fell in love with the car and still wanted it so we ended up paying just over 28K for a GST without S&S.

I realize it is another market down there, but It's kind of upsetting hearing that you "Got took" by paying 5k less than me for more options.

PS: the evo isn't even an option for most people. The dealership here adds 5k to the sticker price. Isn't it just great.... 50k for an evo...

for that much money, i woulda got a Mazdaspeed3, Civic Si, Used EVO IX, or waited and paid a couple grand extra for the Ralliart. seems a bit steep for a regular lancer. you've got 72 hours to bring it back (out here anyway, dunno how the local laws out there are.)

another way you can get out of it is if the salesman hasn't called your insurance company to verify that you have full coverage insurance, and filled out the form associated with that, you can bring it back. without that verification form, the bank will not fund the deal on the car. they can't go through with the loan without that. so what i'd do is call my insurance company tomorrow, and ask them if the dealership has called to verify insurance yet. if not, tell them to stop insurance on the car, and not put anything on it at all. then bring it back to the dealership. without full coverage insurance, the deal is invalid.

oh hell, i just looked at the date you started this thread, it's way too late for that now lol. no way the salesman let it go this long, especially with the end of the month coming up. you're pretty much screwed. pay more attention to what you're doing next time.

True, but what if the guy is worried about the cost of insurance? You could have at least toughed it out till the new Ralliart came out...

Then again, the insurance for a Ralliart and or an Evolution won't be pretty...
