which would you do?
I have an 06 Lancer ES auto 4g94 and I have $1500 to spend. I have the option of putting $1500 into my es, wheels tint exhaust etc, or I can buy a 94 Eclipse 2.0NA 5 speed for the same amount. I am torn so I wanted to hear some opinions.
both good points, i think im gonna go wheels, tint, catback for now on the ES. I dont wanna do suspension unless i can do it all and do it right, springs, shocks, etc. I am installing some strut bars tho to lower that body roll...thanks for the input
I strongly suggest you read the FAQ in my sig since you've made a few errors in terms of what mods do.
Strut bars do not reduce body roll, they have no direct interaction with the suspension but rather act to stiffen up the chassis by connecting the struts and reducing flex. It is not something you will feel unless you are absolutely thrashing the car around.
There are no performance struts available for the lancer, you can either get springs or coilovers.
Unless you plan on putting a lot of money (ie. thousands of dollars) into the motor, you won't see significant gains or gains that will make you happy. Bolt-ons are a complete waste of time, the only cost effective way to make power is with a turbo.
An NA eclipse isn't much of an upgrade, at least not in my opinion.
Honestly I would suggest saving the money until you know exactly what you want out of the car and what it will take to get there. Throwing mods on here and there simply because you have some extra cash lying around is a great way to essentially waste that money.

sorry my vehicular vocab is not very strong i am fairly new to this so sorry about the mistakes as to what mods do. I bought this car for a reliable form of transportation and now im just trying to add some of my taste to it, I think for now I will just add wheels and tint because i cant stand being a fishbowl and leave it at that. The extra money will go into my piggy bank.

hm.. i would say grab that eclipse. You would get more performance out of it when you do mods. Save your lancer for DD and gas saver. Thats why i got 2 cars. I want my lancer to be my mod car, even though the audi is also turbo its stock, saves gas and has a/c lol. A lancer is like a all show no go car, but has potential with turbo
