Slow...
You're kidding me right? You started the thread which obviously sparked this comment, participated fully in the discussion and now you want to turn around and point fingers at other people? Unbelievable, truly unbelievable. If thread is just going to turn into a "**** on Evom" venture, it's going to get closed.
I thought Dax started the thread. And it is slow on here because people have moved on from the platform. I think there is something to be said about things getting shut down as soon as they are started. We go and yell at newbies asking what we consider to be repeat questions but forget that we've all been there. SEARCH!!!! By the way this topic has been discussed before.
That and there are some who constantly driect people to posts about how lacking the platform is. I've seen a few honest attempts to get info closed and in the last post by a mod will say, "check out my thread..." It's fantastic. Way to go

Yeah the forum is slower now, but it better be slow with more quality threads rather than meaningless threads.

That's usually what mods do. The slow down effectively has nothing to do with how the forum is moderated, unless you want to blame the slowdown in all other sections on the moderators who patrol them as well.
Different thread. The reason why threads are closed is because we don't want to become another NASIOC, a site where you need to sift through thread after thread asking the same question just to find one with useful information. As an obvious, how many "what's the best intake?" threads do we need? If the question has been answered before, why it is wrong to suggest someone find that information, isn't that was Evom is for? As for the last bit, shouldn't people know what they're getting into before they start? I'm sorry but I really don't understand this attitude that showing someone the facts is negative. I would have been far happier had I known that bolt-ons were a waste of time because I would have gone straight to a turbo.
So what you are saying is that it is cool for you to shut down a thread, because you are moderating, but before doing so throw in a line to check your thread for details and facts about the Lancer... in which they will find negitivity about the platform and your experiences dealing with vendors who promissed you something they couldn't deliver, thus conveying the thought that Lancer's suck.
You're right, I don't think you are any way inpart responsible for losing a potential contributing members. You win. Close the thread. Hey before you do everyone go check out Amby's thread. Just thoguht I'd save you the key strokes.
Sure but you don't have to act like Jesus spreading the good word to the morons. And to my recollection this was a community enthusiast forum, says so right under that little Evolutionm.net logo in the left upper corner, not a directory for Amby's fact finding dyno run at elevation with stupid assumtions that an air intake would produce 15whp forum.

As I said before, do we really need 50 threads a week about which intake to buy or which exhaust is best? No, that makes it very difficult for new people to actually find information, hence resulting in even more threads being made that don't need to be made, it's a snowball effect. If you consider showing someone that bolt-ons produce little to no gains negativity, I'm sorry but it's the facts. Would you rather the mod team go around spreading false hope? I almost always tell people to go turbo or nothing if they want power, I really don't see what is wrong with that statement. If they didn't care about power, they wouldn't ask how to get to 200 HP or whatever. All I do is present facts, if you don't like the facts, tough. I know that sounds harsh, but that's just the way it is. If we sequestered facts because they might make people upset, we'd be morons and doing a disservice to the platform.
We understand you're trying to help but it's the way you do it that makes us upset. Maybe if you entered a conversation a little more friendly than being the know it all then we would respect you a little better. But no you just nag and nag about it over and over until you decide to close a thread. If you haven't noticed most of us don't like you for that reason and I see more of us posting less and less. So it is you that is driving away great people that have a lot to offer to this community.
And about the thread I started I realized my mistake and asked you guys politely to delete it but you insisted to blabber on for 3 more pages about nothing. So if you want to enforce the rules of going off topic and spamming in threads then you have to follow them too.
And their aren't that many people asking questions that have been answered before and you make it seem like it happens 5 times a day. You act like you get paid to be a MOD and this is your career. Just my 2 cents but I doubt it you care.

Frankly I don't care if some people don't like me, especially when they haven't been here that long. I enter conversations professionally and present facts, only when people decide to make it personal or post stupid responses do I get edgy. Normally I either close threads right away or I close them at someone's request (such as yours). As for suggesting that I'm driving people away, please, even my ego doesn't believe that. If you're still mad about your thread, get over it. We're not your slaves, other people were posting and just because you decided that you wanted it closed doesn't mean it has to be closed right away. The 2002-2006 Lancer section is slowing down because a new model is out, it has nothing to do with the moderators or the staff.
Just the response I was expecting, you obviously would think that way since you don't have a clue what others say and think about you. But you don't care because you're all the way over there in Canada and away from us guys that would most likely kick your *** if we were to see you. I know I definitely would, so go ahead and give me some points for whatever reason you want because I know you want to.
And I've been here long enough to know how you are. I'm not mad about my thread, I'm glad it's closed. But I know for a fact if this was a meet or something you wouldn't be saying half the stuff you say to people's faces.
