Went on a 800km trip(both ways) last week and when I came back I counted 87 rock chips on my hood , side skirts and doors. Before the trip I know for a fact I had only 2 on my hood. said basically sh** happens and they won't fix it or actually put a clear coat on my car. My car now looks like I got a polka-dot paint job. I ended up finding out doesn't use a clear coat. They use an all-in-one epoxy type paint. It's way cheaper for them. I took it to 2 autobody shops and they both said the same thing. Other than the crap paint job it's a good car though.
I will deffinetly get them to do that up for me, Thanks For the tip!!!!

As for the power of the car, I mean common its a 168hp car, Its gonna haul like one, You cannot go out and buy this thinking its going to perform like a evo!!! But like other people have been sayying, Its one sexy machine!!! I think IMO that for the 30,000 bones I shelled out for this babe, fully loaded to the nines, including the Nav & Leather its worth every penny. No other mazda 3 or honda civic is gonna come with the options this car does for the cost, and the cherry on the cake is the stares you get by the guy driving by in the civic or mazda....LOL

pluse plugs i wouldnt recommend theres a thread about the plugs havin a problem witht he spark gap..if u know nething bout that stuff and what ours is supposed to be, (i believe it says it in that thread u might wanna search it)..then go ahead.
Keep this in mind - those people who keep having problem with pulse plugs are those that never gapped them properly -- for our lancers is 0.030 -- No problem -- and mind you I had problem with them to in the beginning due to gapping issue -- Keep it gapped at 0.030 (no more no less) and you are good to go.

Wink

I'm a new 09 gts owner, got it a month ago. got the last black one fully loaded (with HIDs! ) in huntington beach.

So far I'm enjoying it alot. Had a g35, then a FJ cruiser, and now I'm driving the gts and I must say it's a fun machine for what its worth.

I have the cvt and I was fairly surprised at how quick and responsive the paddle shifting is. Can't imagine how the TC-SST performs.

The more I read up on the gts, I'm wondering if it's worth modding at all. I had this whole plan to go black/black/black, add NA mods...basically spend 5k in mods over time (if i had the means, my most unrealistic wish is to push this 2.4l engine to 220WHP, which probably means upping the compression and getting stronger internals and massive amounts of tuning with cams and ecu and etc etc etc.)

But the more I ready up on the evo gsr and mr, I kind of just want to wait out a year and trade in the gts and get the mr. With mitsubishi going the way they are in the US financially, it may be a matter of time before dealers try to sell off the inventory they have left to close shop. GSRs are already going out for way under msrp price. But then again, I'm just overly optimistic.

either way, sorry i've been a bit hehe but i definitely recommend HIDs. It's actually pretty rare, at least here in so.cal.

Honestly... I got it just before winter, so that sucked. Can't wait to put the 18"s back on and hit the road. 5 months and just under 2000 Km in it go away snow!

Comfort... driving it after a 2001 Impala LS... hmmm can't compare the two, they're 100% different. But it's fun to drive the , it's sporty, rough, bumpy

Power... a little 4 banger with an attitude, it goes when you push it

Looks... it's hot! I grin like an idiot every time I take a good look at it, hell I grin when I see another on the road (want to wave at people in them lol).

I'm happy with it

Its been two months and I love it very much. When I go out I get compliment on my car all around. Its so much taller than other car you feel like you are driving SUV compare to other cars especially civic, corollas, hell bmw feels small against GTS.You feel like king on the road and everyone look at your car since there arent much around and it looks badass.

I havent floored it yet but it goes so smooth you will easily go over speed limit. going at 60 to 80 kilometer you wouldnt even notice untill you check speedometer, you feel like you can open the door and get off its that smooth.Interiour is also good, leather seats are comfy it sorta hugs you, sound system is amazing,Bluetooth and sunroof is added bonus.

I cant give you long term review since its only been 2 months.
I will post my experience once it pass 1 year mark.

Vivroy.

I got my 09 GTS(RR, Sun and Sound, NAV package last Jan 22). Currently, it has 1200 miles. I am happy with the performance. I gave my friend a ride last night, he has a Mustang GT (8cyl. fully loaded) and he was impressed with my ride. Planning to put some mod(Works - drop in air filter and exhale) any advise?

Thanks for the feedback all. I'm looking to purchase a 2009 GTS as well. Debating whether to get the manual tranny or CVT.

If you are going to do most city driving get CVT cause you will like manual fist but you will get tired later.
