aight so i wanna black out some more ish... what i am wondering is- is it illegal to not have ur sidemarkers working? i wanting to nightshade them and disconnect them, jus have em there to fill hole, i hate amber lights....and with the 2 red plastic pieces on the rear bumper to the left and right of the license plate..i want to paint those black, but i see it has a DOT stamp on it..will i get tickets for it or have trouble when i try to pass inspection?

 

yea, i dont think u would pass inspection, just tint them or gray them out, dont go completely black

 

isnt that the same **** tho..if i nightshade the pieces on the back itd be the same as jus paintin em black..when u nightshade it shows up flat unless ya do clear coat over it afterwards

 

yea i dunno, if you put some kind of tint/overlay to grey it out, and if there was ever an inspection issue you could just peal it off. rather then have to replace the lights or scratch off the paint

 

nightshade comes off if u rub it down with fuel...aight then as long as i dont sand that **** i think ill be safe. only thing is i see alot of older cars that have nothing like that on their rear bumpers, i dont see the legal relevance

 

check your state laws about tint, some your light has to be visible within "x" amount of feet. the side markers i dont think will be an issue, there is a lot of cars truck etc... w/o side markers. the reflectors again i dont really know what your state laws are.

here the NHP doesnt seem to mind just light has to be visible with 300ft in the day time thats for tail lights but i dont think a cop is gonna measure 300ft lol.

don't quote me i only know roughly about DOT laws in Nevada. Id check out Utah Highway Patrol and DOT in your state if your that worried about it.

oh and you dont have to clear VHT its prety glossy already if thats what you meant

 

yea i wasnt talkin bout tintin taillights, i asked a local cop bout that he said i cant even tint them one bit..i think he was jus bein an ***, but i dont feel like tintin my tails and payin later for it ...whats VHT?
