Aem Cai
i just received my AEM CAI and i'm wondering how many pieces there are of the actual pipe? there was no check list.
i'm asking this because i will not be installing this kit yet, and i want to notify my seller if anything is missing.
thx.

It should come with that list or manual.. But anyways, 2 intake pipes, 3 sillicone hose, and atleast 8 hose clamps.. Just make sure everythin is complete.. Because when i got mine, a sillicone hose was missin..
no, don't take it apart and don't worry about rain..
it is a myth.. you would need to drive thru 3 foot puddles to drive water up into your throttle body.
See my site for install instructions on the CAI

I'm 40 minutes south of LA...the 3 days of rain we get per year and in unusual conditions a bit more dont pose much of a threat with your cai. I've had my AEM CAI for about 3 months now and it hasn't rained since, but you'd have to fully submerge the filter to pull that water. If you're really worried about it, do a search for a bipass valve. Although I'm not sure if there is one made for our AEM.

Nope... Thats not true.. You gotta worry about the rain... You will need to drive slow when it rains for like an hour already.. I know it sucks coz it has happend to me more than 3 times.. The car jerks and idle goes down.. I even got pulled over by the cops for stalling in the middle of the road.. But since i live in the Pacific.. You guys prolly out there dont need to worry as much as i do.. Coz rains there are prolly not as long as the ones i have...

thanks for the info. speedz.
yea, u should be very worried about rain, my civic got hydrolocked last year, had to pay 500bucks to suck all the water out. once water enters the engine it'll idle, choke and then stop.
i had to tow my car cuz it wouldn't start.
thats why this time, for the lancer, i got me a BYPASS VALVE!!

my aem intake was also missing a silicon hose. rob is ordering me another one, but is this a huge issue or something? i took off my whole airbox and broke it in so many places then i found out it was missing and now i have a broken airbox in my car making funny noises. so be sure to look at your checklist. thats one lesson learned
You can use your stock silicone hose, it makes no difference, pluse you can take that front cover off where the filter hides behind. It allows more air in, thats what I did with mine, also take the heat shield off your battery you intake will soon start to get scratched it happened to me. But other than that its awesome, just waiting for the rainy season, but if you live in Cali the weather can never make up its mind.
Oh ya some one also asked if it can be made into a short ram the answer is yes..
