RIP Garret

http://www.ktvq.com/global/story.asp?s=10480170

Unfortunately, I did not know Garret long or too well. I was cruising one night and caught up to him, we pulled over and talked lancers for a while he was really cool. We sorta became random weekend buds. I never had his contact info or anything but we just met up on weekends every once in a while on the off chance we saw one another.

I was just watching the news at 5 and heard a report of a white mitsu sports car that lost control at a high rate of speed and ejected the driver. I looked up right as a glimpse of a white 08 with a totally smashed front end flickered on. I noticed the mitsu windshield vinyl and thought... oh ****. I got on the internet to see it again and sure enough... it was his lancer. I don't know the legality of submitting such a story that hasn't even been released... but i know its him and i wanted to give a special word or two...

Before

After

It truly is so shocking to me... we talked about three times or so. Talked about my dreams of buying an evo... he wanted a ralliart and insisted that I do the same, i wouldn't budge on the evo stance

He completely customized the dash, and i got to see the progress. He kept a real clean car. Just wish i could have known him better.... A truly nice, married man. I was even gonna trade grills with him... i like the black and he wanted the chrome haha.

its truly disheartening to see a fellow driver pass..

RIP Garret

Slow down, everyone. I know i am now.

It's a shame. i've been guilty of speeding at times along with anyone else who's owned a fast sports car. it only takes one time and it's unfortunate that some aren't so lucky
