back to stock>>brakes

alright so my car has the slotted rot's and the axis ultimate brake pads. my pads are out on my right side and i dont wanna go get the new ones.
i was wondering if i could just go stock pads and put them with the slotted rot's?

this brake place is gonna charge me 250 to go back to stock rot's and pads on the front. i may do that or i wanna see if i can just go back to stock pads for about 110

hope this makes sense
thanks for the help

Yes you can go back to stock pads. As long as the slotted rotors are the same size as the stock ones of course.

Yes, you can go back to stock pads. My only question is why are you paying $110. You can get brake pads for around $20-$50 depending on where you get them and putting them in is easy!!

Putting them in is cake! There's a right way and lazy way. The right way is draining the brake fluid to push out the caliper to make sure no air will get in the line. The lazy way is to use a c clamp to push out the caliper but you're taking a chance of getting air in the line. But changing them out is very easy. 2 hours tops...

As far as finding rotors there are only two kinds for lancers. OZ ones and ES. Obviously you arent going to be using ES ones. Pads...not going to make a difference. Just dont go to any $20 shop and get the "life time" pads. That compound is pretty hard and may warp your rotors down the road.

Any chance you're selling the slotted rottors? Maybe we can trade... I just put on new rotors less than a year ago.

that idea would be pretty good gbandit, but the thing is i dont know the condition of the rotors i have.

they look fine on the outside.. but it could be different on the inside because the one on my passenger front side went metal to metal a day ago.

i havent been driving it becasue of this, and the dude at the shop didnt know if they were bad or not, he just recommended new rotors.
