I am strongly considering a Lancer GTS when my Civic lease is up later this year.

I love the design and features more than any other car in its class, only thing holding me back is that we used to have an Eclipse years ago and that had a number of transmission problems. Has Mitsubishi improved their reliability since the late 90's? I'm already aware of the paint issue and will have the dealer do the 3M coating. I don't really care about that...I just don't want my transmission to fail while I'm on the highway.

And is anyone using the navigation system with hard drive from Mitsubishi to store music? Does that function well?

 

the MMCS is awesome, I love it. Ive never owned a GPS/Navi but what other say that its the best stock unit. im up to 25 albums, 16-18 songs per album. as far as the tranny goes i wouldnt worry its got a good warranty

 

never had a problem with my car. I currently have 16K miles. Make sure that you put protective film over the little portion between the rear door and the wheel well. That area is prone to being sandblasted.

 

The only issue I have with the HD for the music server is it doesn't import MP3's.. What was Mitsu thinking to only alow real CD's to be imported?? I can't even remember the last time I bought a whole album in a music store. And I'm way too lazy to imput the names of songs on a mix CD I make..

 

That is retarded...I didn't realize you couldn't put mp3s on it.

Oh well...still learning towards the Lancer. It's come down to that and a Mazda3.
