Question for Rock/RRM

OK, let's see who votes with me.
As I cruise around the site looking at other people's cars, I can't help but notice something. Of the people with SRIs, a much larger percentage seem to have the RMR ones. Even people who's whole car is nothing but RRM parts will occasionally have the RMR SRI. Personally, I can't help but feel that this is because the RMR one has a larger heat shield that incorporates the stock air scoop.

To close off this long post, I am formally requesting that RRM make a heat shield that covers more of the filter and also takes advantage of the stock scoop. Preferably out of carbon fiber, like the one they currently make. Who's with me?

PS - I had NO idea where to put this. Sorry if it's in the wrong spot.

You know what, I'm happy with my RRM SRI, and you know what else, when I got it, there WAS no heat shield.

RRM all the way baby!

If it makes a difference, the ONLY reason I got the RMR one over the ///RRM was because I got a nice discount on it. Other than that, I've heard claims of the same hp gains on each, and they both look very similar.

the only reason i got the RMR is because i work at a dealer and got it for dealer cost, would much rather have RRM's with the carbon heatshield, or AEM CAI

Maybe it's just me, I don't know. I just really like the fact that the RMR one uses the stock scoop. It just seems like it would get more air to it that way. Colder air, too. But maybe I'm just assuming.

Keep looking at cars. Someone in Canada made his own heat shield. Didn't take much, and it covers the same area as the RMR one.

Yeah, I talked to him about it. He said he'd get back to me if/when he decided to make more and sell them. Still waiting...

You can still use the stock intake scoop with the RRM it's just not connested to the heatshield. I have RRM and it's great!

Edit: Nevermind, went outside to check, it doesn't fit in.

I got the RRM one too, like the looks, the sound and think that the scoop from the front looks kinds funny with the RMR one. Looks out of place with the CF shield!!!

I would be willing to buy a cf heat shield if it was made similar in shape to the RMR one but had a 3" circular opening so I could use ducting and a larger scoop. Or an additional section to hold a 3" duct in addition to the stock scoop.

And I've seen a few people fit the stock scoop with the RRM intake. It takes some alternate mounting methods or an alternate elbow (someone used a rubber plumbing elbow from home depot)
