Need help asap!!!!
We replaced the engine on my buddies car and now the clutch pedal won't stay up it just goes straight down after it is raised. Do I need to bleed the clutch? Add fluid or what? He needs to get to work tomorrow so we are trying to figure this out tonight. Thanks for your help in advance.
If the clutch isn't coming back up then you aren't maintaining pressure in the line. Did you fill the fluid? Check for leaks especially at the slave and master cylinders? Bleed out the line thoroughly? If it was possible that debris got into the fluid then try and disconnect the line from the slave cylinder and bleed out a ton of fluid to see what color it is, and remove the blockage. The pedal assembly was untouched, correct?
Sorry, I am an Evo owner, but saw your urgent suggestions needed. Check and double check things, most likely the cause is right under your nose.

ok so we bled the clutch and the car started right up. We let it warm up and then I took it for a spin around the block (more like football field length) and brought it back into the garage. The car died on us but it would start up fine. It would then shut off again. We checked all connections and there were no leaks anywhere. Any body have any ideas as too why it would do this?

it was throwing a code but I don't have a scanner, I'll have to borrow the code reader from my girl's dad tomorrow. I was thinking maybe the spark plugs since I told him to change those before we put the engine in and he told me he did but the truth finally came out that he didn't. Anybody got any other ideas???????

changed the spark plugs, I don't have a gapper with me but the old spark plugs were pretty ****ed up, now the car stays on when in neutral but if we put it in first it will eventually stall. It only stalls in first gear though not in neutral. I keep getting this noise from the throttle body area. Any body have any ideas what it could be????

dunno if you're still having problems with the car, but have you checked that code yet? if you're hearing noise from the throttle body area perhaps check the cables and MAF sensor, etc... it sounds like the idle is ok since you're able to keep the engine running in neutral but maybe something isn't working correctly with the throttle.

well I got it to work now. Yeah there was a leak at the intake boot connection with the throttle body. Fixed that. I had to lower the idle afterwards because I had the throttle cable set up wrong. The car is running fine right now but it is throwing code p0171, which is the running lean code. I think there might be a leak somewhere.
