Interesting for me to find that Mitsubishi uses the same intake manifold for the all poweful Evolution 2.0L Turbo enigine as it does for the wimpy Colt 1.6L engine. Why the hell would they do this? Anyone?

If your saying that the intake isnt a good one it could be to restrict the evo to meet the jap standard (276 HP).

Or, more likely, they used the good intake manifold of the Evo's engine and slapped it onto the Colt engine, since it would be "good enough" and save them from having to engineer/design a new part.

Considering that is on the Evolution I'm sure its better than the one on my Lancer. I wonder why those 2 cars would share an intake manifold though. I'd assume if its on the Evolution it peforms to a certain extent or tuners would be more fond of replacing it. I haven't heard from any of the Evo guys on the boards about them wanting to replace the manifold. Although I'm inclined to agree with what WSB just said.

The 4g61T is the first and smaller version of the 4g63T.
