some of us mod it just to mod, not caring bout whos faster...idc bout how much money i put into it, im gaining mechanical experience from it. everything that has been done to my lancer i did myself with little or no knowledge. im not sayin that im a lancer guru, but i have learned alot from doing things myself with a little research and the go-getter attitude. id rather blow 5k into my lancer in mods that i put on rather than 5k on an evo that i havent touched cause im broke from 300+payments plus insurance...on top of that, the car is already quick, so whats the point of even modding it? we all kno our cars are slow, evos are faster, fwd sucks blah blah blah...at the end of the day we look at our cars (most of us) and are proud of the work that we done to it (note again, i said most of us)

 

I think mods are fun just for the sake of doing it - giving your car a little more of a personal touch and personality! It doesn't have to be financially or perhaps even performance "logical" to make sense... People do some of these things just to have fun!

Anyway, this is a great food for thought post as I am a little curious about the prospect of turboing my Lancer. I have a 2009 Lancer GTS - can anyone recommend a good kit - as well as an installer in the Boston area?

There's a good thread on the GTS forum, but thought I'd reach out to a wider audience (especially in terms of finding a good installer in the Boston area).
