Autometer Oil Pressure Gauge Question

Hello everyone,

I have the red oil light on and I believe it's my oil pressure sensor being defective since the level of oil is fine. At least that's what I have been told by many.

At the same time I just happened to have bought the autometer oil pressure gauge. Can the oil pressure sensor coming with the gauge replace the OEM one? If so, can I just tap the original oil pressure sensor wire to the autometer oil pressure sensor (so as to make dissapear the red oil light)?

Please help out a fellow member!

Cheers,
Pete
