Oil light blinking on 02 Lancer

This just started happening. The check oil light is coming on in my car, but only at idle. The car is idling fine one second, then the check oil light kind of flickers, and rpms drop and the light gets solid, then a second later it goes off and the engine idles fine again. If I pump my brake pedal the light comes on every time I get all the way to the floor. I checked my oil, and its level is fine. What's the problem?

Apparently it's because of low oil pressure. Has anyone ever had an oil pump fail on them? Hopefully just cleaning it will work.

change the switch...usually just a few dollars and then try a thicker oil....if your using 10-30 try 10-40 etc... this will fix the prob..

when it happened to me, I put in some kind of oil treatment to help break up any sludge I may have built up

it may be as simple as an oil pressure sending unit--but when the light is flashing that is the car telling you to turn it off and that it could be in danger.

Yah it did man...it was a while ago I would know the actual brand. It may have been the Marvel mystery oil treatment (big red bottle)
