Hot/Cold Knob or Fan Knob

Anyone ever break one of these knobs? I know it's usually because of the cables. It happened to me. It sucks. Pretty expensive from the dealership. Anyway, I have two control units available I originally bought used for my 2003 Lancer. Will ship for cheap. PM me if you need one.

Isn't that a recall?

Nope. At least I haven't found that yet. Dealership told me it's not. And, you have to buy this whole kit with a new face plate, cables, and lots of stuff you don't need, if just a knob breaks. Dealerships really get you. It sucks.

i know this isnt very helpful since i dont have a link or part numbers or anything, but i think makes gears to replace the hard-to-turn components of the temp selector knob.

Do you have the part number for it so that I'll be able to try to look for it at a later time since I broke my cold/hot knob

the only tsb related to the hard to turn issue is one mentioned above

the tsb is uploaded to the link below
--> http://www.megaupload.com/?d=T48GJFK2

parts only cost me $25 from the dealler to fix the hard to turn issue

i dont know what the part number is for the knob itself, that i has to look up

I have no part numbers.

Considering typical technology in imports, yes this part is cheap (I mean poorly designed). I expected better.

So its not just me, When I turn the temp selector I feel like I have to put alot of pressure on the knob and then it finally turns over.

Yes, your problem is directly related to the cables that connect to the control unit. I highly suggest you stop turning the dial, and replace the cable connected to your temp dial. Otherwise the thing will eventually break off. Best of luck!
