Crower forged connecting rods

As we talked about in a thread in engine tech I'm going to help organize a group buy on connecting rods.

The rods are forged steel and made by special order by Crower rods. The order will be made through Vision Imports (Thanks Matt), and unfortunately I will not be participating because I've already ordered mine. Right now Shaun (sorry if I spelled that wrong) is going to contact Crower and find out what number we need for a price break. The regular price Matt quoted me was $599 so even if we can't organize the group buy, let it be known that they are available and can be ordered regardless. Vision imports may keep a set or two in stock if there is enough interest as well.

Billy (Link286XT) has them in his car and we have him to thank for Crower knowing the specs.

If you're seriously interested or have any questions, please let me/us know.

Those interested:

1. yellow_lancer
2. Stew (via IM)
3. liquidlancer
4. Turboit
5. mboza

We're doing pretty well so far if you ask me Didn't get to call today so I'm going to call Monday and see what's up.

*1/20/03* PLEASE READ MY MORE RECENT POSTS. UNABLE TO COMPLETE GROUP BUY. MY APOLOGIES FOR THE ONCONVENIENCES, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN.

The combo at regular price w/ Jet Hot coated pistons was only around $1,300 at regular price. The Jet Hot on the pistons was approx $23 per, so...not bad if you ask me. I was expecting to spend around $1,500 for the record.

Recon, my manifold is custom fabricated. All the info on my car is in the registry.

You'd need a clear head too. Anyway, let's try not to digress please.

There we go. All set. Honestly, it's more an issue of preventing damage if detonation occurs while tuning or in case of more fuel delivery problems. I don't really expect much.

I'll make a list. We're waiting on pricing and people needed while Shaun checks with Crower. As soon as I know I'll be sure to post it all. The regular price of the connecting rods was $599, so group buy price will obviously be less. If you're in a hurry it's a good regular price, but I'm assuming most no one really is so you can afford to wait for the GB and pricing.

Matt estimated 4-6 weeks. I thought I posted that. I dunno. My brain's fried.

Oh, and payment will be going to Vision Imports once we get this worked out.

I would be interested in rods also. Possibly even combo w/ pistons. This depends on when buy actually happens. Rods 95% sure though.
