hey.. ive been reading some comments made about the photos the aussies and new zealenders post here. every time the american guys here say it looks like a mirage? and when u.s guys post photos of their mirages we aussies think it looks like a modded lancer.

so what does our mirage look like to you yanks? do you have a similar car to this peice of crap in america?

while this one here is our lancer which has the droid kit put on... its a pretty ugly color which isnt a stock color.

 

and once again my chidlren the mirage from the back... we only get 2 dooor mirages as well.. where gona get 4 dooor soooon. they should be illegal.

2002 is the first and so far only year the lancer has been sold in america, and incase you haven't seen it...

 

what 2002 is the only year lancers have been sold in america. they havebeen selling them here since the early 80s ! in australia tis one of the top 5 purchased cars.
and that top pic you just posted (black one) is your mirage ? that is the same as our 2000 model lancer coupe. hopefully we will get the oz model you guys get. its a real nice lancer.

basically in australia you can either get a normal lancer (gli,glx or mr) brand new for around $9,000 u.s or get a evo for around $34,000 u.s.
there is nothing in the middle.. either choose a slow car which is cheap and fun to modify or get the complete evo. it suks.

and there arnt many evo's because about 30 percent of people who have lancers put evo body kits them on them which look exactly the same as an evo. usually unless you look close or know your cars its hard to tell without seeing the badges. here you can turn a standard new lancer ($9,000 us) into a evo lookalike for around $1,500 u.s costing all up around 11,500 u.s !

people still look at these evo wannabe cars and stare.... here is a pic of a normal 1.5 or 1.8 litre lancer with a evo kit.

and yes, 2002 is the only year we have had the lancer. 2003 we will get the EVO VII (i've heard it might be called the EVO VIII, but im not sure)

In Aussie and some pacific rim countries, the lancer is a sedan version for the US spec mirage sedan from 97-02.

As for the mirage HB, stateside has no such model.

Of course, the Lancer MR is the US spec Mirage LS coupe . . . JDM ASTI is a differnt story.

Also, some countries have the mirage HB using the 1.3L w/ 3 valves per cyl.

BTW: sometimes, the US spec mirage coupes are referred as either Lancer or mirage, depending on country.

Japan=Cedia (all but the EVO7)

 

I hope they change up the 2003 US Lancer(Mirage/Cedia) and give it more power and some better looks..

 

For the past (89-92), US Mirage line up consisted of a 4-dr sedan, and a 2-dr Hatchback (no 2-dr coupe back then). Then in 1993-96 model, the HB was discontinued and Mitsu introduced the coupe, and the 4-dr sedan remain in the line. However, I guess since the sales of the sedan doomed, the discontinued it in 95-96. Then in the 97 model change. The re-introduced the sedan back in the line up.

Therefore Aussie's Mirage/Colt Hatchback can only be found in 89-92 model year

 

what the hell is a lancer galant? i've seen them when i was in hk...they look like a mirage/lancer sized car w/ galant style...

 

Didn't Dodge/Plymouth use the Lancer name on a Colt Hatchback way back in the early eighties?

 

Ooops, nevermind. I remeber now. It was that Daytona/Duster hatchback thing they used to make. K-car chassis, Mitsubishi engine, FWD.

 

Lancer Galant?! Is it the 99-00 Lancer in HK or 99-00 Virage/Lancer in Taiwan & some other counties from 99-00 Lancer/Mirage.... which we don't have such chassis in America.
