You will get hammered on insurance if you get an Evo at 16, dude. Get something cheap, like an old Honda or something.

 

I happened to know some rich kid who's 18 now drove a Porsche Boxster S and he pays like $6000 a year for insurance premium UNDER HIS PARENT POLICY!!!

My opinion is to get a reliable used car as you first car. My first car is the 88' Acura Integra. I like that car, reliable and plenty of fun back then...

I had an 81 Dodge Charger, it served it's purpose as a first car. I had one accident in it and that was the last of that. Imagine if you got a brand new Evo 7 and wrecked it.

 

Yup, my advice is not to buy any new car for the first year of driving. For example, I had 2 accidents and totaled my car. Like Justin said, imagine that's an EVO...

 

No i know that. LOL, im not gonna get an evo for my first car even if i had the money. Right now id be suprised if i even got a car, my stupid step sister will probably get one before me (shes 6 months older, stupid *****)

 

My first car was a 96 Eclipse GST (cool huh), but all my other friends got brand new cars! I say get something cheap, but not a NEON ARGH

 

Get a Pinto. They rock.

 

I had a 85 corolla for my first car. It was a piece.. And a real monster at that. 85 HP pumping to the front wheels..

I was paying 150 a month, just for liability. Get something cheap.. with no car payments.. learn how to REALLY drive. And save your money for something you really want.

ahh yes dreams of our first cars.. its never the same after your first car......sigh. My first car was a Mitsubishi Galant '92. ya, inline 4 and super econo. my dad sold it last year... sob sob... Once you go Mitsu you never go back! heheh

now i have a Nissan Maxima, not bad, v6, but its such a BOAT!!! sooo wide and long compared to my old Mitsu. oh well. someday my evo.. someday
