why does this happen,
when im goin aobut 70-80 crusin and i nail the gas the RPM's actually drop when i hit the gas. they will be 3000 rmps, when i nail it it drops to around 2500- 2000 RPM i have an auto... and RRM short ram intake and custom exhaust whats the deal..

this is for the same reason that the auto goes faster at 60+ with the throttle at 4/5 instead of floored. for some reason mitsu thought it would be a good idea to make the auto bog at high speed + full throttle. instead of flooring it next time put the pedal at 4/5 and you should get the response you're looking for.
When you nail the gas, the chances are that your O/D drops into 3rd gear. When it does that, especially cruising in O/D, your rpm drops into an area where there isn't any power. It'll take awhile to hit 4K rpm before it kicks hard again.
Also, there is a possibility that dropping into 3rd gear that fast induce full blown rich condition. On an AFC, when you hit +.96 on the O2 reading, you're dead rich = no power.

or autos are horrid cars lol
i hate my auto, its nice on occasion, but i miss my 5spd i used to have.
although much easier to play with the ebrake in the snow with an auto than a manual lol, one less lever to pull =)
