it is easy. Take you console out. There are a few bolts holding the shifter in. remove and replace shifter. should take like 30 minutes.

I don't know about you, but taking the console out took almost 30 min itself. Many screws to remove. But the whole thing was easy, just time consuming. I think it took me 2 hours.

It's a serious throw reduction from stock. Maybe if you get the ES busings it will be more to your liking. Personally I am satisfied with it as is.

Not counting the shift knob (if it's aftermarket) I think there's like 4, Brian.

Two in the bottom of the arm rest cubby, one in each foot well. Am I missing some? I've done this myself about 5-6 times, so I'm either a bit tipsy from a liquid lunch or just remembering incorrectly.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and of course you have to unplug the wires that light the ash tray bulb, 12v lighter, and its accompanying bulb as well.

But that's not counting the 2 at the back of the console that I removed and then found out I didn't need to, plus 2 more to remove the cup holders because I didn't realize the front just snapped out

oh yeah, and me missing the snap to get it back in and popping the thing out of its place

but seriously, don't you have to unsnap the fronts of it as well? (by the foot wells) I found one of those things to be a real pain.

Yeah there are those two at the wells... I kinda, um, snapped them off cause I was in a hurry and in my dad driveway at the time. Does anyone know where I can pick up some of those foot well screws?? Haha...

ok 2 questions:
1. Are all the short shifters being sold on ebay the same as the street customs one, bc id rather get one of the oterhs bc they are slightly cheaper?
2. Our stock knob doesnt fit so how do i know which aftermarket ones will?
