Which car to buy??
RA29 thinks I don't know my stuff. That fine, let him think that. I'm just showing you visual proof of what a turbocharged engine dyno looks like. If you look at the graph at 3000RPM, there is only around 65HP and 120ft.lb of torque. I also have to take into account that I run a 20G turbo which is considerably larger than the 16G the EVO has. The 20G has much more turbo lag.
I was just talking about response. The EVO has 200ftlb+ torque @ 3000RPM because of the smaller turbo, but it still lacks the response of the naturally aspirated 3.5L V6 Altima. I can gaurantee you that the EVO does not have 270 ftlb of torque the instant you hit the throttle. If you mashed the gas at around 1500RPM, then by the time you hit 3000, I am pretty sure 200+ is possible. I just wanted to show the pros and cons of both engines.
The orginal poster could make up his own mind after weighing the facts. If it was up to me, I would go for the EVO, but that is because I could care less about response. Just look at the dyno!!! Do you think anyone who purchases a 20G is conserned about low end torque or just plain sick top end power.
Jeff
OK, I'm ready! Let me hear all the hate posts!

Not that easy...stupid ej25 has way too high of a compression ratio to take much more than 8psi (can be fixed though). Since it's a boxer engine it is an incredible pain in the *** to work on. If you're willling to do it, the benefits are well worth it though.
On the springs/struts issue...the wrx has slightly stiffer spring because it weighs more. Each impreza model and tranny choice gets their own springs. The only real difference is the slightly bigger rsb which can easily be fixed for under $50.

hmmm, good point on the insurance of the 2.5 RS. I'm looking at doing up one of those....turbo costs a chunk to put in. I'm looking for someone that's done some work on a 2.5 to consult with.
Whoever said they didn't like Audis is an oddball and a half. Aside from being heavy from the luxury aspect of the car, it has the quattro system which is one of the best in the business. Plus, you can get major power just from chipping them. A dealer around here says they'll even do warranty work if you've chipped it and done other stuff.

I actually work for Baystate Nissan in Springfield, MA and I wouldn't suggest a Spec-V it's a nice car but not in the same class as the others listed..... The new Altima 3.5 SE is a great engine, but other than that the interior in my opinion is very cheap.... and the price for them you could actually get an SE Max for cheaper..... I agree with the other wait for the EVO or get a WRX or if you really want an Altima come to me so I can make the commision
I was pricing an altima tonight, the maxima se ends up being cheaper, plus it has one more gear and 15 extra hp. Nissan sucks, seems every option on the altima makes you get that stupid package with leather, I hate leather seats. After reading b15sentra.net I don't want a spec v.
What about...
You should go check out the new G35... Supposed to be a great car. 265 hp and they are getting a coupe next year with a six speed and 10 more HP. Should be pretty cool.

Any idea when the new ITR or RSX-Type R or whatever will start showing up?
