A/C Condenser

this is probably a dumb question, but im young so bear with me..

keep in mind my A/c has been broken for some time and i have no interest in fixing it.
do i really need the a/c condenser and refrigerant pack? Can i remove them and still be able to run the car normal? There are 2 hoses going to the passenger side of the condenser and Im wondering if they will be fine unplugged or if i would need to plug them up or if the idea is terrible and it would be leaking fluid or so on. I dont really know how the A/c really 'works' so i appologize

but i really need to know this asap and thank you!

you dont need it, i did that with my truck and its fine. take it all off the lines and everything all the way to the firewall, hell if any of its good sell it.if there is Freon in the lines it will spray everywhere but the kind they use now isnt bad for the ozone from what i read.

not if he takes everything out and drains the lines there wont be nothing left, with no coolant the compressor wont even come on

so basically as long as my lines already have no coolant in them, i wont have it leaking all over the place and they will basically just be taking up space? Thats the basic issue really.. dont want it to be leaking fluid for days and dont want to do any damage to my engine since i noticed one of the hoses going to the condenser comes from the engine.
thanks guys, i appreciate the responses so far

on the condenser one hose goes to the compressor,on the engine and one goes back to the fire wall just follow all the lines disconnect em and your good. if you can find a a/c delete kit for these cars which i doubt then you can take off the compressor too, take some weight off the engine and free up horsepower maybe. but you will not be leaking anything though.

^ Yeah, good advice - evacuate the system (if it has not already leaked all out...) and sell components. Cap the lines at the heaterbox (so a/c oil (used with R-12) doesn't leak out... But it shouldn't...)
