help kensuke pick a direction!

alright, i've pretty much already laid the foundation for my car: rims and tires! tried to go with somethin nice looking and big... that's taken care of. now it's time to decide where i'm going to go with my car. i like to finish things before i move on, so lowering springs are next, but after that it's really a toss up and i'm having trouble deciding what i'm going to do on my soon to be 18 year old budget! should i...

1. suspension mods! already going for springs... get new struts (es tokikos!), strut bars, anti-sway bars, break upgrades (wilwood!), etc

2. str8 performance! finish the exhaust, do pistons, turbo camshaft, conrods, and eventually an rrm or rpw turbo kit (this would take the longest... probably wouldn't see solid results for more than a year)

3. visual upgrades! can't go wrong with a tasteful body kit and maybe some cf. would be looking at an accolade kenstyle since imo, it's the only kit to keep our car sorta stock-looking, leave room for that fmic, and get rid of that huge ***. (this would probably be the fastest to complete since i would most likely stop visual modding after the kit)

i'm not really interested in interior **** as of yet. i'll prolly do some infinity kappa mids and a new h/u after everything else is done, but my racer stereo is fine for now. i'll never do subs.. weigh too much (unless u have the dollas to do it right) and just get in the way.

so VOTE VOTE VOTE! i want performance, but i can have looks soon. i need you guys to help me decide!

Suspension. You'll have a bigger grin on your face after beating a civic through corners than you will losing to one with an engine swap and turbo the size of a frisbee.

You prob don't need the wilwood upgrade until you're making a lot more HP. Do that last. Better pads and maybe slotted rotors are a good idea.

I'll PM you details if you'll turn on your PMing. I don't want to hijack this thread any worse than I already have

I wouldnt touch the body of your EVO man. I know from experience.... you will lose soo much value of your car if you put on a body kit.. yea you can always take it off, but after the kit gets painted and put on, the stock parts never fit on the same again. I just lost 3,000 off my Integra Type R trade in. I have a full kit on it, and i would have gotten 19,000 for it, but the dealer said because I modded the body, we will only give you 16,000 for your car. Integra Type R's have high resale value do to the fact its a Rare car. If i were you, just leave the body stock, a carbon fiber hood is cool, cause there is no painting and modding to fit them. So unless your spoiled rich kid, i leave it stock body with maybe some decal stickers and a carbon fiber hood and some ground lights.

IMO you should go for a little of each.

K-Bar
New wing or CF hood
exhaust or pistons

That's just my opinion. Happy modding whatever you do!

Well just like others have said. Get the suspension upgrades

This car is seriously lacking in good handling, but is able to be pretty damn good with upgrades.

Drive train on the other hand, has very little compared to other cars. But with 4-7k $ it can run low 14's which is respectable

Its never going to beat Honda’s with GSR's and big turbo's, unless you do a complete engine swap.

Power that is uncontrollable is useless

and to my last point, all show and no go is freaking stupid!!! unless its 1-off stuff

all show and no go is why most import cars get laughed at. just think about that

The car responds the best to suspension modifications. It gives you the most "noticeable" improvements with the least effort more or less. These cars can be made to handle absolutely fantastic. From auto-xing my car I can tell you I don't have much trouble outhandling most of the civics and neons and the like.. I just end up hurting in the power department. But if you do suspension.. with header and exhaust... which is a cheap set really... then you'll be in very nice shape for the money.
