What next?

Ok, so I have an Intake and a catback exhaust. Should I get a buschur downpipe(Will this screw me on emission checks?) or a high flow cat or test pipe or what? I'm lookin for performance mods?

i think on one of these threads theres a statement saying that the hiflow cat is actually better than the test pipe. and rrm sez that the downpipe is pretty pointless. look into rrms header.

Import tuner had a downpipe midpipe thing that gave pretty decent numbers, so I dunno. Anybody know where i can get a STREET LEGAL high flow cat for pretty cheap that will bolt up and not throw a CEL!

High flow cats aren't legal per se unless a) you can prove something is wrong with your previous/current one and b) has the same emission properties as the stock one. As for the downpipe, if you were to use the Road Race manifold, with the downpipe, the test pipe and a full exhaust, you'd be running wide open from the exhaust ports back.

I think the testpipe will net you the biggest gain of the three options.

As for the downpipe, it shouldn't affect your emissions at all since if you only do that mod, you'd still have your first (remove with header) and second (remove with highflow/testpipe) cats in place. And with a downpipe providing no gains over the stock one, just take a look at your stock downpipe when you get a chance. It crumples down so much it's absurd and going with the thought that leaving that stock piece there instead of getting a much more freeflowing version since there aren't any gains to be had, that's equally absurd.

RPW's header/downpipe combo has been dyno'd and posted by wadad and I have yet to see a comparable dyno figure from any other header manufacturer.

if you are thrifty (like myself) but want the performance of a header/downpipe combo, check out my group buy for the kamikaze header w/ downpipe in the classifieds, or PM me.
